Cities of
Refuge
Cities of Refuge are Christian communities that are built upon the
Trinity Concept of recovery. The Trinity concept includes three
distinct program components—recovery,
worship, and training—under
one leadership umbrella.
This
approach produces results that are far superior to traditional
recovery programs with segregated components. Why?
Because the Trinity Concept creates a dynamic synergy by combining a
Christ-centered recovery program with a church designed to meet the
specific needs of recovering families with a follow-on program that
trains program graduates to guide others on the road to recovery.
Recovery Program
Requiring a one-year
commitment, the recovery program uses psychological and
medical
research found in traditional rehabilitation centers. However, the program's central focus is
on helping individuals build strong relationships with Jesus Christ. We use a Christ-centered approach to restoring lives that
have been devastated by the ravages of chemical addiction
and alcoholism. Program specifics include:
Induction (4 weeks):
A mutual evaluation to determine if the program and the
individual are mutually compatible.
Orientation (6 weeks):
Individuals set program goals and learn how to achieve
them.
Regeneration (10 weeks):
In-depth focus on the effects and issues of addiction.
Inner Healing (10 weeks):
A time of emotional and psychological reflection and a
movement toward self and external forgiveness.
Discipleship (10 weeks):
Transition from internal attention to external
relationship-building accountability.
Advanced Principles
(12-13 weeks): Christian maturity, effective
prayer, and spiritual growth.
